Emmabelle Schimmelpfenneg Obituary

Emmabelle "Emmy", nee Breeden Schimmelpfenneg Canton Emmabelle "Emmy" nee Breeden Schimmelpfenneg. Born November 24, 1917 in Ansley, NE. Died at home on January 14, 2010. Beloved wife of the late Harold O. Schimmelpfenneg. Dearest daughter of the late Roy and Cordelia (Scott) Breeden, sister of the late Jack Breeden. Survived by Ken and Marty Schimmelpfenneg of Battle Creek, MI, Bud and Carol Schimmelpfenneg of Canton, MI; granddaughters Nancy Hanlon of Swampscott, MA, Carol Sandow of New York, NY, Sarah Venhuizen of Canton, MI; greatgrandson Maximillian Schimmelpfenneg Hanlon of Swampscott, MA; Numerous Schimmelpfenneg and Breeden nieces and nephews. Emmabelle worked and lived in the Detroit area until retirement and moved with her husband to Harsens Island where they began the annual Schimmelpfenneg reunion. Later she enjoyed visiting with family in Massachusetts and New York City and was an avid fan of Eastern Michigan University sporting events. She was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Detroit and continued to attend the combined Trinity St. Mark's United Church of Christ for over 55 years. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-7p.m. and a funeral service to honor her life will be held Monday at 11a.m. with the Reverend Steve Archer officiating at McCabe Funeral Home, 851 N. Canton Center Rd., Canton, MI. Memorials may be made in her name to Trinity St. Mark's United Church of Christ, 9315 West Fort Street, Detroit, MI 48209. Private interment at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens.
