Dorothy Luella Park Battle Creek Dorothy Luella Park, 86, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Laurels of Bedford in Battle Creek, MI. She was born November 20, 1923 in Detroit, MI the daughter of William Murray and Annie Catherine (Kemp) Murray. Dorothy was a loving mother, housewife and homemaker. She is survived by two sons: Ronald E. Nelson; William "Bill" H. and Cathy Nelson; a step son: Harry and Loretta Park; and a step daughter: Lois Ann and Lee Edwards all live in Battle Creek; six grandchildren: Jody Mize, Carrie Case, Robert Nelson, Jon Nelson, David Nelson, Matt Nelson; fourteen great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; and her sister: Ruella Swindler of Wheatland, Wyoming. Dorothy was preceded in death by her: parents, daughter: Shirley Luella Nelson December of 1942, two husbands: Richard Kridler Nelson Feb. 2000 and Harry "Tom" G. Park Oct. 1991. Dorothy came to Battle Creek as a youngster and received her education from Battle Creek Public Schools. She enjoyed the out of doors going fishing and camping, playing the piano by ear, singing, playing BINGO and spending quality time with her family and grandchildren. She really liked to talk on the phone. Visitation will be held after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service where the family will be present from 5-7:00 p.m. Funeral services celebrating the life of Dorothy Luella Park will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2010 in the Bachman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lee Edwards officiating. Entombment will follow at the Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial tributes may be made to Humane Society-South Central Michigan or Salvation Army.
