Charles Bottomley Obituary

Charles J. Bottomley, Jr. Athens Charles James Bottomley, Jr., age 55, of Athens passed away late Thursday night, January 21, 2010 at home. He was born July 21, 1954, the son of Charles and Janice (Blackhall) Bottomley. Charles is survived by his wife, Susan (Snyder) Bottomley of Athens; son, Michael Bottomley; daughters, Kimberly Bottomley and Clara Young; grandchildren, Courtney Mills and Codie Young; brothers, Mark (Susan) Bottomley, David (Brenda) Bottomley; sisters, Annita Bradley, Karen (Leroy) Baird, Barbara (Stephen) Barber, Mary Mellen, Amy (Francisco) Duran and his father, Charles Bottomley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Rauscher. Charles was a dedicated worker and recently retired from the Ironworkers Local 340 after 30 years. He was a loving and supportive father, husband and grandfather. Charles loved to farm his land and fish on a nice sunny day. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2010 at Shaw Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Marvin Savola, North Athens Baptist Church officiating. Sue; I was at your home once. YOU PROBABLY DON'T RECALL. I WAS THE IRONWORKER INSTRUCTER WHEN CHUCK FIRST GOT INTO IRONWORK .I ENJOYED WORKING WITH HIM VERY MUCH HE WAS A WILLING AND SKILLED WORKER, THE LOCAL WILL MISS HIM AS WILL I.
