Mary Kriss Obituary

Mary Joyce Kriss Mary Joyce Kriss, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009. She died peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Mary's untimely death is attributed to acute Leukemia resulting from her previous battle with Breast Cancer. Mary Joyce Mahoney was born in Kalamazoo, on October 5th, 1940 and had resided in Miami, Florida since 1963. The daughter of Mary and Jack Dudley, Mary grew up in Battle Creek, attending Battle Creek Schools and graduated from Lakeview H.S. in 1958. Mary was a RN graduate of the St. Lawrence School of Nursing in Lansing. She served as a Registered Nurse in the ER's at Baptist and Miami South Hospitals, and the Coral Reef Hospital, in Key Largo. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Ted Kriss. For many years they resided in Key Largo with their beloved Yorkie Molly, returning to Miami in 2004. She is survived by her two children, daughter Jennifer Pierce and son Ted Kriss Jr. (Christine) of Miami, along with their children, Tristan, Pierce, and Piper Elliott, and Griffin Kriss. She was adored as their "Mimi" Also surviving is her mother, Mary Dudley (Willson / Mahoney) of Kalamazoo. A sister, Elizabeth Mattoli (Ruggero) of Rome, Italy and three brothers, Richard (Rick) Mahoney (Sharon) of Kalamazoo, Roy Dudley (Brenda) of Madison, WI and Gordon Dudley (Maureen) of Conifer, CO. A memorial service took place in honor of Mary on November 11, 2009. Donations may be made in her memory to The St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St. Kalamazoo, or Susan G. Komen for the Cure (www.komen.org.)

Liz, I'm so sorry to here of Mary Joyce's passing. What a sad thing to loose a sibbling. My thoughts are with you and your family.
