MaryAnn Jagner Obituary

MaryAnn Jagner Battle Creek MaryAnn Jagner, Age 94, died Monday, February 1, 2010. MaryAnn was born on November 1, 1915, in Orange, MA, the daughter of Marcelinus and Helena Stasys. She graduated from High School in Detroit. In Detroit on June 27, 1936, she was united in marriage to Walter Jagner who preceded her in death on May 16, 2003. She and Walter moved to Port Sanilac, MI, in 1977 to garden and fish. In October of 2000, they moved to Battle Creek to live with their son Ron. She was employed at Frieda's Beauty Salon as a cosmetologist for 15 years. MaryAnn was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed canning the food that Walter grew. Surviving are sons, Walter (GeorgiaAnn) Jagner of Hartland, MI, and Ron Jagner of Battle Creek; 3 grandchildren, Michael Jagner of Milford, MI, Mark Jagner of Ypsilanti, MI, and Annette (Martin) Griener of Berkley, CA; sister, Helen Swendris of Westland, MI; nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Anthony and Paul Stasys. Visitation will be held at the Charles Step Funeral Home, 18425 Beech-Daly, Redford, MI, from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2010, at the Divine Providence Catholic Church, 25335 West 9 Mile Rd., Southfield, MI. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Southfield. Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.

I will always remember how fun Grandma was to see a movie with, how she orchestrated wonderful holiday meals with perfect grace, how generous she always was, and how much she clearly cared about her grandchildren. I know that I'm very lucky to have had her love and influence in my life.
