Lucille Dickey Obituary

Lucille E. Dickey Marshall Lucille E. Dickey died January 30, 2010, at age 100. Her passing occurred at the Care Community assisted living facility in Battle Creek where she lived for the past two years. She was preceded in death by Leon P. Dickey, her husband of 53 years, who died in 1988. She leaves five children: Nancy L. Bicknell (George) of Marshall; Beverly A. Harrison of Gainesville, FL; William R. Dickey (Sue) of Madeira Beach, FL; James A. Dickey (Cheryl) of Grayling; and John P. Dickey of Jackson, MI. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, upon whom she doted, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Lucy, as she was known to her many friends, was a long-time employee of the Marshall Hardware where she oversaw the gift section. For years, she and Leon wintered at Travelers Rest, an Airstream Park in Dade City, FL and for many years, traveled around the United States and Canada with the Airstream group. They were also avid bridge players and, no doubt, are already inviting friends to the big bridge party in heaven. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Marshall on February 13, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Care Community, 565 General Ave., Springfield, MI 49037.
