Rose M. (Granger) Rushing Millbrook, Alabama Rose Marie (Granger) Rushing passed away December 13, 2009 from complications of cancer in Millbrook, Alabama. Rose was born November 1, 1953 at Holy Cross Hospital in Detroit. She was the first born of three children to Mary Jane Elizabeth (Richer) Granger and Otis Lumond Granger. Rose attended Battle Creek Public Schools and graduated from Bellevue High School in 1971. She had a flair and passion for painting on canvas and also floral arrangements. She also liked her 60's and 70's Rock and Roll music. In the early 70's she enlisted with the United States Air Force and was stationed at San Antonio, TX for basic training. From there she enjoyed a long and successful career being deployed around the world. Rose spent time in Nebraska, Florida, California, Germany, Turkey, and Japan, finishing her career at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. She was a lifelong member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars. She retired in the mid-80's and then enjoyed working mainly at different construction offices as an office manager. Rose leaves behind her husband of 11 years, Daryle McDonald; father, Otis L. Granger of Battle Creek; sister, SueAnne Bracewell (Steve) from Atlanta, GA; a niece and nephew Kelsey Bracewell and Donald Bracewell of Atlanta, and brother, Robert L. Granger of Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jane Granger in November 1992. A memorial service was held at the Brookside Funeral Home Chapel in Millbrook, AL on December 16, 2009. She received a three-gun salute from Airmen attached to Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery. Locally, the family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bellevue, followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Internment, Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue. The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.
