Louis Jordan Obituary

Louis C. "Lou" Jordan, 84, Topeka, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2008. Lou was born March 5, 1924 in Osceola, MO, the son of D.T. and Hazel (Ballou) Jordan. He graduated from Glasco High School in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He attended Kansas State College, graduating with an Associate degree in Agricultural Engineering. He worked for the State of Kansas, Board of Agriculture, Division of Water Resources, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church, and the American Legion. Lou married Juanita Ione Morrow on August 24, 1946 in Concordia. She survives. Other survivors include sons; Larry (Christine) Jordan, Topeka, Randy (Margaret) Jordan, Cork, Ireland, Rick (Suzanne) Jordan, Topeka; three grandchildren, David, Brian and Jennifer; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Carnie, Overland Park. A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Crestview United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Delphos Cemetery in Delphos. Lou will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crestview United Methodist Church, 2245 SW Eveningside Drive, Topeka, Kansas 66614.
