Janet Adams

EAST FALMOUTH — Janet (Zisk) Adams, 86, of East Falmouth, formerly of Weymouth, died at the JML Care Center on June 22, 2008. She was the wife of Clifford E. Adams for 64 years.

Mrs. Adams was born and raised in New Britain, Conn. She married her school sweetheart and settled in Weymouth, where they resided for many years. While she raised their family, she also worked as a classified ad representative for the Patriot Ledger.

She was an active member of the Union Congregational Church of Weymouth and Braintree. She especially enjoyed being part of the church's Flower Circle Committee.

During retirement she split time between Brooksville, Fla., and East Falmouth, and became an avid golfer along with her husband. She was a member of the Weymouth Garden Club; Falmouth Garden Club; John Wesley United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the alter guild; and was a Falmouth Hospital volunteer. Recently she donated for the restoration of one of the fireplaces in the Falmouth Library.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, Curtis Adams and his wife Donna of Bend, Ore., and Stephen Adams and his wife Linda of East Falmouth, formerly of Sudbury; grandchildren, Michael, Jeffrey, Susan, Samantha, and Anndi Adams; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, and Tessa Adams; sister, Doris Redfield of East Falmouth; niece, Sharon Chapman of East Falmouth; and nephew, William Redfield of Chatham.

Visiting hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, June 24, in Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St., Falmouth center. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, June 25, at John Wesley United Methodist Church, Gifford Street, Falmouth, followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Falmouth.
