PLYMOUTH — Frances (Cummings) Anderson, age 91, of Plymouth, formerly of Scituate and Sandwich, died June 25, 2008.

She was the wife of the late John E. Anderson.

Frankie was born in Somerville. As a young girl, she summered in Camden, Maine. Frankie graduated from Westbrook Seminary in Portland, Maine, and Burdette Business College in Boston.

After she and John were married, they moved to Somerville to start a family. In 1954, Frankie and her family moved to Scituate. She was a member of St. Mary of the Nativity Church Ladies Sodality.

She was the proud daughter of Past Commander of The Ancient and Honorable Artillery Co., Boston, the late Francis S. Cummings and Julia M. (Dunlop); devoted mother of John F. Anderson and his wife Linda of Hull, Susan Anderson-Lehane and her husband, Jim of East Sandwich, Heidi Anderson-Walsh and her husband, David of East Sandwich, Jane M. Henderson and her husband, Paul of Scituate, Gretchen M. Ross and her husband, Lonnie of Georgia; loving grandmother of John Silas, Julie, Jamie, Jenna, Chip, Meghan, Allison, Kellie, Lisa, Beth and Kathryn; and sister of the late Evelyn Murray and Scotty Cummings. She was also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours are Saturday, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, Scituate, at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Scituate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scituate Etrusco Association Inc., 1 Common St., Scituate, MA 02066.
