John P. Ballentine

NORTH FALMOUTH — John P. Ballentine, age 57, of North Falmouth died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at his family homestead after a long illness.

He is the husband of Judy L. (Young) Ballentine, to whom he was married 30 years.

Born in Wareham, he was the son of George and Isabel (Handy) Ballentine. He was raised at his family's homestead in North Falmouth and was a graduate of Lawrence High School in Falmouth and RETS Technical College. His career was spent in the computer industry, working both in sales and technical support.

He was a devoted husband and father, a kindhearted and loving family man. He was the "Best Daddy Ever."

Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Jennifer Craique and her husband, William, of Londonderry, N.H., and Kerri Wilson and her husband, Matthew, of North Falmouth; two sons, Jeffrey and his fiancée, Roberta Knight of Falmouth, and Matthew of East Falmouth; three brothers, Richard of Oregon, Stephen of Cataumet and James of Virginia; four sisters, Mary Bigham of Falmouth, Barbara Ballentine of North Falmouth, Anne Young and Wendy Badman, both of Vermont; three grandchildren, Stephanie, John and Jeffrey; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Highway (Route 28A), West Falmouth. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 30, at the funeral home.
