EAST FALMOUTH —

Thomas F. O'Donnell Sr., 77, of East Falmouth, died at Royal Nursing Home in Falmouth on July 10, 2008.

He was the husband of Joanne T. (La Forte) O'Donnell for 56 years.

Mr. O'Donnell was born and raised in Watertown. For four years during the Korean War, he served in the Navy on the submarine USS Dace.

Following his honorable discharge in 1954, he resided in the Boston area and worked as a plumber. In 1971, he moved to Falmouth to start his own business, T.F. O'Donnell Plumbing & Heating. He taught plumbing in the evenings at Upper Cape Regional Technical High School. He also coached youth hockey in Falmouth.

Besides his wife, he is survived by their five sons, Thomas F. Jr. of East Falmouth, Michael A. of North Falmouth, David R. of Pennsylvania, Stephen J. of East Falmouth, and Glen E. of Northbridge; and eight grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Monday, July 14, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 481 Quaker Road, North Falmouth, followed by burial at 1:15 p.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Services of Cape Cod & Islands for Research, 712 Main St., Hyannis, MA 02601.

Arrangements are by the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home in Falmouth.
