Herbert Scudder Obituary
Born April 21, 1926, in Brockton, he was the son of the late Howard and Ruth (Hamilton) Scudder.
Herb was a 1944 graduate of Brockton High School and a graduate of Williams Business School, formerly in Brockton. He served as a sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War II and was the former co-owner of Scudder Brothers Fuel Company, Inc. He was a member of the American Legion and a member of the Scudder Association.
In addition to his wife, Doris, of 49 years, he is survived by a son, Glenn F. Scudder, and his wife, Cynthia, of East Bridgewater; a daughter, Brenda R. Tekin, of Bridgewater; seven grandchildren, Alex Scudder, Caity Scudder, Jenny Scudder, Matthew Scudder, Diana Tekin, Daniel Tekin and Souzy Tekin; a brother, Davis H. Scudder, of Brockton; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19, at 10 a.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, Chapel for all Faiths, 647 Main St., Brockton. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater. Visitation will take place on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Scudder Memorial Hospital, c/o Vellore CMC Board USA, 457 Riverside Drive, Suite 243, New York, NY 10115, or visit www.vellorecmc.org.
