Harry E. Laurie

DENNIS — Harry Ernest Laurie, 71, of Dennis, died July 14, 2008, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

He was the husband of the late Judith P. (Anslow) Laurie.

Mr. Laurie was born in Woonsocket, R.I., and raised and educated in Lincoln, R.I. He worked as the proprietor of Old Harbor Moving and Storage Co. from 1971-2003.

After marrying Judith P. Laurie, they raised their children in Dennis. Mr. Laurie was also a special needs school bus driver for the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District and the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority.

Mr. Laurie was a proud member of the Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge in Lime Rock, R.I., and the National Rifle Association. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his beloved cat, Chloe.

Mr. Laurie is survived by three sons, David M., Michael S. and Steven H. Laurie, all of Dennis, as well as two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Briana Laurie, and his longtime companion and friend, Diane Barabe. He also is survived by several nieces and nephews in Pompono, Fla., and on Cape Cod.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m., in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth. Interment will be private.
