OSTERVILLE — Jeannine Langer Hubbard, 79, a resident of Osterville, died peacefully at Grand Islander Health Care Center in Middletown, R.I.

A widow for 27 years, Mrs. Hubbard was the wife of the late Fred Arthur Hubbard Jr. She was the daughter of the late George Henry Langer and Lillian Rasmussen Langer.

She worked for many years in the family business, Hubbard Paint, alongside her son, Steven George Hubbard, of Cummaquid. She is also survived by her brother, James Langer; her son, Fred Arthur Hubbard III, of Conway; and her daughter, Nancy Hubbard Bixby and husband, Jonathan, of Portsmouth, R.I. She was the loving grandmother of Nicholas Arthur Hubbard, Brian James Hubbard, Jonathan Brett Hubbard, Jonathan Hubbard Bixby, and Kimberly Anne Bixby.

In addition to her work with Hubbard Paint, she served on the board of directors of Cape Cod Bank and Trust, and volunteered for the Heritage Museum in Sandwich.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 25, at 2 p.m. at Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeannine's memory to the Champ House, 82 School St., Hyannis, MA 02601, or to the Jimmy Fund by sponsoring her son-in-law, who has dedicated his ride in the Pan Mass Challenge to Jeannine. Donations can be sent to PMC Headquarters, 77 Fourth Ave., Needham, MA 02494 (enter ID JB0410 on your check).
