Justin Coleman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 24, 2008.
EAST FALMOUTH — Justin Francis Coleman, 87, of East Falmouth, died at home on July 16, 2008, after a long illness. He was the husband of Jo Ann (Ball) Coleman for 17 years.

Mr. Coleman was born in Hingham and resided in Falmouth for more than 50 years. For 23 years, he was a flight engineer in the Air Force and held the rank of master sergeant. For the next 15 years, he worked as an Internal Revenue officer for the IRS.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Cape Cod Curling Club, a past Town Meeting member, and a volunteer for the Falmouth Public Schools and Falmouth Television. Curling, reading about military history and aircrafts, watercolor painting and gardening were some of his favorite pastimes, but he especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Francis J. Coleman, and wife, Nancy, of Reading; stepchildren, Michael Bostwick and wife, Connie, of Rochester, Minn., Gary Bostwick and wife, Kim, of East Falmouth, and Pamela Coakley and husband, Bruce, of Pocasset; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three nieces; and one nephew.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, at the First Congregational Church, 68 Main St., Falmouth, MA 02540. Interment is private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Hospice and Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601, or to the First Congregational Church at the above address. Dear JoAnn and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Justin's passing. He always seemed larger than life. I remember him well with his stories and how he adored his mother Louise. God Bless you all at this time. It was nice to think of those times with you, Justin, Lela and Louise. (acts. director at harborside)
