Alta Blake Obituary
Alta was born in Dorchester, Feb. 2, 1926. She grew up in Dorchester, lived in Milton for many years, Cotuit for seven years and since 2006 has lived in Royalston. She was a manager of employee relations for White Fuel, a division of Texaco Corp., in Boston for over 20 years.
She leaves her husband of 60 years Hugh G. Blake; a son, David Blake and his wife Diane of Sandwich; two daughters, Charlotte Corstange of Templeton and Barbara Coughlin and her husband Robert of Cambridge; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Higgins-O'Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol. Calling hours will be Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. and burial will be at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Athol Animal Shelter - for the care of animals, c/o Athol P.D., 280 Exchange St., Athol or the Athol Memorial Hospital, Oncology Unit, 2033 Main St., Athol, MA 01331.
