CENTERVILLE —

Marion I. Coggeshall, Lt. Col. Ret. US Air Force, 90, died on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at Cape Cod Hospital.

Born In Fall River, she was a graduate of Newport Hospital School of Nursing as an R.N.

Marion served in the military for over 31 years, first as an Army nurse during WWII. She was called back to service as an Air Force flight nurse, transporting the wounded soldiers during the Korean and Vietnam Wars to Air Force hospitals. After her assignment as a flight nurse, she was assigned to Westover Air Force Base and later to Otis Air Force Base, where she retired as a Lt. Col.

She was a long-time member of the Hyannisport Golf Club.

She is predeceased by her parents, Chester & Cora (Hart) Coggeshall, seven brothers and a sister. She is survived by her sisters Alice Coggeshall and Pauline Porkka and brother Dwight Coggeshall, all of Centerville. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road (Route 28), Marstons Mills, on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at 10 a.m. Burial in Beechwood Cemetery, Centerville. Visiting hours will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Memorials in her name may be made to the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society.

I would like to say I am very sorry about yur loss. As you know my mom, Lois Cross, just passed on 7/26/08, and I can only remember all the good times had by all.

One memory I have of your family is riding down the hill with my sister Cindy, and having a cold soda on the other side with your family...

Thank you for being wonderful neighbors through my childhood...Again, I am sorry for your loss...
