Myron Brennan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 12 to Aug. 13, 2008.
SOUTH YARMOUTH — Myron Brennan, formerly of East Walpole and Medfield, died on Aug. 7, 2008, shortly before his 80th birthday, surrounded by family.

Myron became an aviation electrician at the age of 17 after convincing his mother to sign him into the Navy as a minor; he served on the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge and the cruiser USS Toledo. He later worked as an electrician at Bird & Son in East Walpole, at American Can Company in Needham, and at Polaroid in Cambridge.

Myron was known for his independent spirit and outgoing sense of humor. He was especially passionate about education, and as the children in his family earned their various degrees, he proudly added the abbreviation "P.O.E." after his own name (for "Poor Old Electrician").

His other passions were restoring Model A Fords, recycling old bicycles for children, collecting antique clocks, lamps, and banks, and enjoying life with his family and friends. He was a member of the Azure Masonic Lodge in Walpole.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 57 years, Eunice Koch Brennan; his daughter, Susan Brennan and son-in-law, Eric Stubbs; his son, Ronald Brennan and daughter-in-law, Anne Relias Brennan; three grandsons, Gregory, Christopher, and Harrison; sister, Linda Brennan Barrett; brothers, Wendell and Donald Brennan; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to thank his doctors, nurses, and caregivers, especially the Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod Hospice and TLC Home Health Care.

There will be a small memorial service on Sunday, Aug. 17, from noon to 2 p.m., at Thirwood Place, South Yarmouth.

Ronnie, I was sorry to learn that your dad passed away. He was a great man who impressed me when we young. I'll never forget the Model A you restored with him. My heart goes out to you and your family.
