HYANNIS — Robert P. Garvey, 41, of Boston and Hyannis, died at Cape Cod Hospital on Aug. 10, 2008.

He was the son of Mary (Lyons) Garvey and the late James V. Garvey, husband of Sara (Rhodes) Garvey of Hyannis, and father of Timothy J., Ryan P., Marshall L. R. and Mykayla K., all of Hyannis; and brother of Janis M. Hicks of Hyannis and Karen E. Garvey of Boston.

Robert was born in Springfield on July 28, 1967, to Joanne E. Jones. He attended St. Sebastian's in Newton and earned his associate's degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix. He was employed by Associate Alarm Systems of Hyannis.

Robert was an adoring father who loved his family individually and specially, sharing his love for sports and information technology with his children.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 14, at Our Lady Of Victory Church, 230 S. Main St., Centerville, at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at Our Lady of Victory Church, on Wednesday, Aug. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted at any Bank of America, c/o Robert P. Garvey Children's Memorial Fund.

He was there for the bad times the sad times and the good times.I will remember his laugh and his strong hug and I have no one to replace him. I regret the times that I argued with him over nothing at all and yet i would give anything to argue with him now. Brutus,puppy and pat and the trotter school.mdc swimming and baseball.I miss it all.
