NEW HAVEN, Conn.— Charles S. Brown, 58, of Briarwood Lane, Branford, died in New Haven on Aug. 14, 2008.

He was the husband of Jane Brown and the father of Charles Brown, T.J. Levesque, and Nicole Brown. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Shawna Brown, R.J. Charles Brown, and Jonathon Levesque, and a sister, Darlene.

Born Feb. 23, 1950, in Elmira, N.Y., he was a son of the late Charles and Mimi Brown. He was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the Marine Corps. Mr. Brown was employed for many years as a chef at various restaurants. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association of America, the Marine Corps League, the DAV, and the Nam Vets Association of the Cape and Islands.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at 1 p.m, at the Nam Vets of the Cape and Islands, Hyannis, MA.

We are sorry for the loss of Charlie. We've missed him since he moved to CT. He was a true friend and he is missed even more now! He was a fixture in NamVets for many years. We still remember him sitting in "his chair"! Charlie thanks for being part of our lives!
