Jane Raymond Obituary

CHATHAM — Jane S. Raymond, 96, died peacefully on Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Liberty Commons Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Chatham.

She was the wife of the late Lester Dakin and Harold Raymond.

Jane was born in Worcester to the late Michalina and John Sroczynski. She lived in Sutton for many years.

She attended the University of Mary Washington, graduated from Framingham State College, and worked as a home economics teacher at Millbury Memorial High School in Millbury until her retirement in 1976.

She was predeceased by her brother, Chester Sroczynski and is survived by two nieces, Dorothy A. Anderson of Brewster and Joan Sroczynski of Worcester; a nephew, Chester Sroczynski of Statesboro, Ga.; a great-niece and great-nephew; and a great-great-niece.

The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate staff at Oyster Pond at Liberty Commons and their hospice staff who cared for her during her years stay.

Her visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 9:30 a.m., at the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in Our Lady of the Cape Church, Stony Brook Road, Brewster, at 11 a.m. Her burial will be private.
