THE VILLAGES, Fla. — Grace May (Benson) Dudevoir, 74, of The Villages, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008.

Born in Jamaica Plain, Mass., on Jan. 15, 1934, she resided in Acton, Mass., Cape Cod, and The Villages.

Grace was a member of St. Elizabeth's of Hungary Church, Acton, Mass., Christ the King Church, Mashpee, and St. Vincent de Paul Church, The Villages. She was a CCD teacher and program coordinator, and supported The Christian Children's Fund.

As an accomplished knitter, she enjoyed sharing her works with many friends and children's charities. Grace was an enthusiastic gardener and enjoyed the company of all animals, domestic and wild, from early childhood. She was a staunch supporter of her children and grandchild's sports and music activities. She enjoyed traveling, a good book, caring for her family and the lives of everyone she touched.

She was a classy lady, full of passion, flair and taste. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend, and will be sorely missed by all. She left an indelible touch on the lives of those who were privileged to know and love her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Arthur Dudevoir of The Villages; and beloved children, Scott A. Dudevoir of Heber, Utah, and Tracy D. Dudevoir of Belmont, Mass.; adoring granddaughter, Kayleigh D. Dudevoir of Belmont, Mass.; and four legged companions, Lilybelle, Durante, Dixie and Tinkerbelle.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at 8:30 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wildwood, with Father Peter Sagorski, celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to The American Diabetes Association, 1101 N. Lake Destiny Road, No. 415, Maitland, FL 32751.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory, Lady Lake.

Dear Scott and family,
I will always remember your mom as having a big smile for me - I guess being in her CCD class so many years ago gave us a special bond. I remember fun times over the house in Acton, (Ok - so maybe she wasn't home a couple of times!). I know and hope she will live on with you in your happy memories.

With love,

Hollace
