James DeCourcy Obituary

HYANNIS — James L. DeCourcy, of Hyannis, died peacefully on Sept. 15, 2008.

James was born on April 16, 1923. He was the beloved husband of Mary Phyllis DeCourcy for 61 years; adored father of June E. DeCourcy of Plymouth, James K. (Darleen) DeCourcy of Beverly, and the late Jay T. Decourcy of Salem; cherished grandfather of Kimberly M. Washington and Tara M. Santheson, both of Plymouth, and Brendan and Coleen DeCourcy of Beverly; loving great-grandfather of Kaleb and Noah Jesse, and Ava Rose Santheson, all of Plymouth. He was predeceased by his brother, John, of Lynn.

Jim "Lee" was a World War II veteran and a member of the VFW of Hyannis. He was a longtime employee of GE River Works and the Boston Naval Shipyard.

A former golfer, he was an avid Red Sox fan.

A private family gathering will be held at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St., Hyannis. Services will be held at St. Francis Church in Hyannis, at 10 a.m., on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, at 1:45 p.m.
