ORLEANS — Jane Elizabeth Adams, 71 years young, died peacefully on Sunday morning, Sept. 21, 2008, at Cape Cod Hospital.

Known to many in the community as "The Cookie Fairy" or "The Bread Lady" Jane will be fondly remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh and generous spirit.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Sept. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m., in St. Joan of Arc Church, Orleans. Burial will follow in Orleans Cemetery.

Sometimes Jane would have an extra cookie to share with those of us still left at 'Dick's', in the Post Office. Her welcome cackle preceded her, a testament to her indomitable spirit.
Thank you, Jane, for your time, energy, and smile.

I worked at Coast Restaurant and we referred to her as "the kitchen grandma". We were lucky enough to be a stop on her cookie run. Sorry for your loss. Jane was a wonderful person.

Ron, Christine, and Scott:

I was so sad to hear about your mum's passing. I saw her last month in the Cape Cup; she was having lunch with Norma and all of her girlfriends and had a giant smile on her face.

Thinking of you and sending my condolences at this difficult time.
