Victoria Fonseca Obituary

PLANO, Texas — Victoria Anita (nee Leyton) Fonseca, 70, died on Oct. 31, 2008, in Plano, Texas, after an extended illness.

Victoria was born and raised in South Dennis. She moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1955, where she married and raised her two children. After the death of her husband, Navy Lt. Cmdr. Anthony Fonseca, in 2001, she moved to Plano to live with her twin sister and her sister's husband.

Victoria is survived by her two children, Anita Fonseca-Williams and son-in-law, Virgil Williams, of Stamford, Conn., and Christina Fonseca of Palm Bay, Fla.; identical twin sister, Alexandra Anahory of Plano, Texas; sisters Agnes Lopes of South Dennis, Cecelia Monte of Hartsdale, N.Y., and Shirley Leitao of Bacrest, Texas; brother Theophilus Leyton, of Nashua, N.H., and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Theophilus and Beatrice Leyton, brother Amos Leyton of South Dennis, and sister Mary Paiva of Brooklyn, N.Y. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by all.

Viewings will take place at Joseph G. Duffy Funeral Home, 255 9th St., Brooklyn, N.Y. 11215 (718-499-8700) on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will take place at St. Lucy/St. Patrick's Church, Friday, Nov. 7, 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Hospice or National Neurofibromatosuis Foundation.
