MONUMENT BEACH — Margaret "Peggy" (Doyle) Ellis, of Monument Beach, died at her home on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at the age of 80.

She was the loving wife of Herbert W. Ellis for 40 years.

A graduate of Wareham High School in 1946 and Burdette College in 1948, she worked for H.A. Suddard Inc. in Wareham for 20 years.

After her marriage in 1968, she and her husband moved to Monument Beach. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was very active in Helping Our Noble Serve of the Shriners Women's Auxiliary.

Visiting hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., in Bourne. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 841 Shore Road, in Pocasset. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery follows.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggy's name may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children Burn Unit, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114-2699, or to a charity of one's choice.
