Thomas Flynn Obituary
Tom attended South High School, where he graduated in 1952 with best friend Robert Sullivan. They both went on to join the Coast Guard, where Tom served on three different cutters from 1952-1956, as well as one year in the Philippines, where he was stationed at Loran Station. He then moved to Yarmouth to join the U.S. Postal Service.
After his retirement, he followed his passion of golf at Bass River golf course, working and playing on the course.
He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn A. Flynn; four children, Jacki-Lee of Yarmouth, Beth-Ann of Boston, Garrett and wife, Betsy, of Richmond, Va., and Thomas J. and wife, Dolly, of Reading; and five grandchildren, Courtney, Kara, Jeff, Kaytlyn, and Sam.
Funeral procession will form at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at the Morris & O'Connor Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, South Yarmouth. Burial will follow at Chandler Gray Cemetery, West Yarmouth.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be made to the Duffy Health Center, 105 Park St., Hyannis, MA 02601.

It is my honor to be the Coast Guard Representative at Mr. Flynn's funeral. I will be folding the flag and presenting it to Mrs. Flynn. My thoughts and prayers go to the Flynn family and all his friends.

Mr. Flynn was my little league coach and my postman for many years. I'll always remember his kindness and the rides to ballgames. I grew up with his son Tommy, I am very saddened as we saw him quite often at St. Pius on Sundays over the summers. He will be sorely missed.
