SOUTH YARMOUTH — Enrico "Rick" Lisi, 87, longtime resident of South Yarmouth, and formerly of Deep River and Glastonbury, Conn., passed away Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at Cape Cod Hospital, with his loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Eva J. (Petersen) Lisi for 34 years. Rick was also the husband of the late Jessie (Furdin) Lisi.

Born in Deep River to John and Lena Lisi on Sept. 27, 1921, Rick was raised in New York City and graduated from Haaren High School in 1939. He also attended the College of Aeronautics and the University of Hartford.

Rick enlisted in the Army Air Forces, where he served as a flight engineer with the Eleventh Air Force in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was discharged as a sergeant in 1945 and was very proud to have served his country.

Rick was a co-owner of the Deep River Printers for several years before joining the Experimental Engineering Department of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in 1956 from which he retired in 1983. In 1984, he and his wife Eva relocated to South Yarmouth.

A past master of Trinity Lodge of Masons in Deep River, Rick was a member of Howard Lodge in South Yarmouth, the VFW, The Air Force Association, the Bass River Rod and Gun Club.

An avid golfer and bowler, he maintained his sharp mind and quick wit throughout his entire life and was muli-talented in many areas. He truly loved his family.

While living in Deep River, Rick was a member of the Deep River Congregational Church and upon moving to Glastonbury, became a member of the Wapping Community Church in South Windsor.

After relocating to South Yarmouth, Rick joined the Federated Church of Hyannis.

Besides his devoted wife Eva, he leaves his children: son, Richard Lisi and his wife Brenda of Fairfax Station, Va.; daughter, Donna Galuardi and her husband Tom of Killingworth, Conn.; four grandchildren, Bethany Lisi, Kristen Lisi, Nicholas Galuardi and his wife Kristin, and Alison Galuardi; brother, Albert Lisi of New York City; sister, Elvira Scagnelli of Wallingford, Conn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at the Deep River Congregational Church, with burial to follow in Fountain Hill Cemetery, Deep River, with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army, 100 North Street, Hyannis, MA 02601, or Animal League of Boston, Route 6A, Brewster, MA 02631.

Swan Funeral Home of Old Saybrook is in charge of arrangements.

Dear Eve,
I am sorry to hear of Rick's passing, my heart goes out to you and your family. Seems like only yesterday, you two were walking arm and arm to Rick's car at Pratt. I hope my thoughts and prayers will help you during this difficult time.

Mrs. Lisi and family,

My thoughts are with you through this difficult time. I did not know Mr. Lisi for a long time but in the short time I knew him I am very aware of how much he loved his family. I work as a CNA at Eagle Pond and was very saddened to hear of his passing. Mrs. Lisi I just want to tell you that he was truly blessed with a loving devoted wife like you. Once again, my heart goes out to you at this difficult time and may the love and strength of your family get you through the difficult days ahead.

Eve:

I want to express my deepest sympathies to you and your family at this time of Rick's passing. I remember Rick as being the consummate gentleman in all the dealings I had with him at Pratt. It seems like such a short time ago that the two of you became a couple and had such an obviously happy relationship. I am so pleased that the two of you had so many wonderful years together.
