Yvette Freller Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 20, 2008.
HARWICH — Yvette A. Freller, 58, of Harwich, formerly of Provincetown, died unexpectedly at her home on Saturday morning, Nov 15. 2008.

Born in Provincetown on Dec. 11, 1949, she was the daughter of Ethel (Williams) Roderick and the late Irving Roderick.

In 1974, while studying art in Linz, Austria, she met her future husband, Otto Freller. She and Otto were married on June 13, 1975. They returned to Provincetown in 1976, eventually moving to Harwich in 1994.

At the time of her death, she was employed as a medical receptionist for Dr. Robert Lytle in Hyannis.

Although she enjoyed her active life, it was her family that gave her the most pleasure. She was especially proud of Joshua and Evan Hurley, her two grandsons who lived nearby.

Besides her husband, mother and grandsons, she is survived by her two daughters, Tanya Hurley and Allison Freller, both of Harwich; twin sister, Yvonne Roderick-Oda of Kaysville, Utah; paternal grandmother, Mary P. Roderick of Provincetown; niece, Kara Agresta of Salt Lake City, Utah; and nephew, Seth Alexander of Broken Arrow, Okla. She will also be missed by her loving in-laws, the Freller family in Hörsching, Austria.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11 Prince St., Provincetown, on Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at 11 a.m., followed by burial in St. Peter the Apostle Cemetery. Visiting hours at the Gately-McHoul Funeral Home, 94 Harry Kemp Way, Provincetown, are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m., with a vigil prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

If desired, memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the Provincetown Rescue Squad, 25 Shank Painter Road, Provincetown, MA 02657, or to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor Brookline, MA 02445-7226, ATTN: Contribution Services.

I was so saddened to hear about Yvette. I had just run into her a week or two prior and it was the first time I'd seen her in years. She looked GREAT and we had such a wonderful conversation. I am so thankful that I had that opportunity. I'd like to share my deepest sympathy to the family of Yvette Freller. May all your memories of Yvette help you through this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To all of Yvette's family and friends:

I'm so sorry to hear of her passing, and for your tremendous loss. I'm proud to say that I used to work with Yvette at Dr. Lytle's office. I always looked forward to seeing her bright, shining face every morning. She always had a funny story and great advice, and I truly enjoyed her company on our drives to Wellesley Hills. I'm sure there will always be a big hole left from her passing, but she lived such a full, fun life, I'm sure you all have many, many wonderful memories of her to try to fill it.

Much love to you all, I'll keep you in my prayers, and Yvette always in my heart. Remember she's always with you!

Otto and Family- My deepest sympathy goes out to at this time. I am not sure if you will remember me or not, I worked with Yvette at Dr. Lytle's office. Yvette was the MOST AMAZING woman. I loved her smile, out going personality, and charm. She was a TRUE FRIEND. She will be greatly missed by all. There was never a day that she did not have a smile on her face. I loved her telling me stories about her family, her adventures, and her life. Remember she lives in all of our hearts. My prayers go to you and your family. In loving friendship, Shelley Brauninger
