David Derosier Obituary

ONSET — David Derosier, 75, of Onset, died at his home on Thursday, June 11, 2009.

He was the husband of the late Sheila M. (Grace) Derosier and had been married for 50 years.

Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Albert and Constance (Hood) and graduated from Whitman High School in 1952, where he played football.

Mr. Derosier was the former owner of D & H Auto Body in West Bridgewater and Sheila's Place antique shop. He was an amateur stock car racer, an avid hunter and fisherman and was a Coast Guard licensed captain, who made many boat deliveries between Massachusetts and Florida.

Survivors include his son, David Derosier II and his wife Sarah of Middleboro; brothers and sisters, Richard Derosier of East Bridgewater, Diane Robertson of Seattle, Wash., Marilyn Manning of Whitman, Albert Derosier of Norwell, Norman Derosier of Bridgewater, Christine Cataldi of Pembroke, and Constance Ahearn of Plymouth. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Peter Derosier.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham, from 2 to 4 p.m. Burial will be private.

Donations in his memory may be made to Jordan Hospital Club Cancer Center, 275 Sandwich St., Plymouth, MA 02360.
