Elizabeth Gautier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 16, 2009.
WEST YARMOUTH — Elizabeth A. "Betty" Wilson Gautier, 72, of West Yarmouth, died on June 9, 2009, at Mayflower Place Nursing Center.

She was the wife of the late Larence Gautier.

Born in Gilbertsville, N.Y., in 1937, she was the daughter of Harry Wilson and Elizabeth Rowe Wilson. She was raised by her sister, Dorothy Wilson Adamo and her husband John Adamo. She worked for the federal government in a number of capacities, but most recently as a budget analyst at Fort Irwin, California. She took her responsibilities to the soldiers and their families very seriously. It was a job that she truly loved.

While work was important, Betty's primary focus was her family: her husband, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and grandnieces. She is survived by her son, John Gordon and daughter, Deborah Naklicki, and their children.

Her faith in God was strong and she fought for what was right and for those who could not fight for themselves. Despite many difficult times, she maintained a much remarked upon sense of humor. She made people laugh.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Huntington's Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, New York, NY 10018, or Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.

Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, South Dennis has been entrusted with arrangements. Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.

My dearest Deb and family,

My love and thoughts are with you as you remember your Mother, Grandmother, Betty.
Each day is a gift...an opportunity...a treasure because God is the one who gives us the breath..of life places before us a purpose and direction...
Allows us to enjoy the wonder of his prescence and the fellowship of his love. (author unknown)
Deb you showed your Mom unconditional love...May she now rest in peace suffering no more.
And may you continue to find peace, love and joy with your son, Vick, the treasure of your life.
Love, Roberta
