MARSTONS MILLS - Eva Elizabeth Johnson Roderick, 86, died July 25, 2007.

Eva was born on Sept. 27, 1920, in Manchester, N.H., the eldest child of Florence (Parkinson) and Arthur Johnson. She was a graduate of Manchester High School and The Institute of Arts and Sciences.

A talented and versatile artist, she worked for many years designing ads for various Manchester businesses as well as the Union Leader. She was an accomplished jeweler and taught silversmithing at the Institute for many years.

Eva was an avid gardener and floral arranger, and an active member of the Cotuit and the Osterville garden clubs. She was also a dedicated conserver of the environment, creating many spaces for birds and wildlife.

A member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Barnstable, she attended Grace Episcopal Church when in Manchester.

She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel M. Roderick; a nephew, Steven E. Johnson; and her niece's husband, Clive J. Grant.

She is survived by a sister, Grace Pomeroy of Manchester, N.H.; and a brother, Robert E. Johnson and his wife Cam of Edgecomb, Maine, as well as 35 nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

The funeral will be on Saturday, Aug. 25, at Grace Episcopal Church, at 11 a.m., corner of Pine and Lowell streets, Manchester, N.H.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Route 6A, Barnstable, on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 1 p.m.

Memorial donations in Eva's name may be made to the Hepatitis C Foundation, www.hepfi.org/donate, or to a charity of one's choice.
