Erich Dejdar Obituary
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 28 years, Carmen Claus Dejdar.
Erich was born and educated in Vienna, Austria.
During the Russian occupation of Vienna, Erich immigrated to Australia where he resided for 20 years.
Upon his marriage to Carmen in 1979, he came to the U.S.
Ever since, they have lived in Boston and on Cape Cod.
During his residence on the Cape and prior to retirement, he was employed at Emily Lawrence, Ltd.
Erich was a Friend of The Federated Church of Hyannis.
He had traveled extensively, having visited five continents. Understandably, he had a deep love for touring Europe.
In addition to traveling, he dearly loved and enjoyed the opera, symphony, ballet and live theater.
Flower gardening was also of keen interest to Erich.
Surviving, besides his wife, are his stepdaughter, Allyn-Elaine Shropshire of Columbia, S.C.; his two grandchildren, Katharine and Kevin Shropshire, also of Columbia.
In Vienna, Erich leaves his foster brother, Adolf Ulmer and his foster sister, Theresa Ulmer Alsh; and nieces and nephews.
There will be visiting hours tomorrow from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St., Hyannis.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at The Federated Church of Hyannis, 320 Main St., Hyannis, followed by a burial at Woodside Cemetery, Yarmouthport.
For any who may wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Steeple Cross Maintenance Fund, The Federated Church of Hyannis.
