HYANNIS - Anneva L. Smith, 80, died on Sept. 24 at Essex Pavilion.

Wife of the late Robert M. Smith who died in 2000.

Sister of Joseph Donahue of Philadelphia, Pa.

Anneva has lived on Cape Cod since 1987. She worked at the Cape Cod Community College as a secretary at the Hyannis Center from 1996 to 2006, also teaching computer skills to seniors at the center. She also was involved with the Computer Society of Cape Cod. A past president of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Cape Cod, she too held several state officer positions including legislative chairwoman, going to the national convention in July every year. She volunteered at the local access Channel 17, solicited items to be auctioned off on Channel 2 yearly. A volunteer for the Catholic Services as an ESL teacher from 2000-02, she coordinated the ESL program from 2002-03. Volunteered every Friday at Cape Cod Hospital from 1993-2007.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Church, South Street, Hyannis on Monday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. She will be buried with her husband at 1:15 p.m. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

Anneva she was my best friend,I love her like she was my grandmother because I never had one. My daugther Stephanie lover her to we were always there for her. I will always remember her.
