Joseph T. Kotomski, 77, passed away on Oct. 22, 2007. He was the husband of Edna E. (Kowal) Kotomski.

Mr. Kotomski was born and raised in Worcester, the son of Joseph and Anna (Sankoski) Kotomski. He was a graduate of Fitchburg State College and received his Master's Degree from Worcester State College. He served with the Marines during the Korean War before starting his teaching career in the Worcester Public School System.

Upon his retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Kotomski moved from Worcester to Cummaquid. Mr. Kotomski was an avid gardener and advocate for and lover of animals.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, survivors include an aunt, Julia Sankoski of Worcester; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Blake of Florida; a niece, Carleen Blake and her husband Roydan Tomlinson of Colorado; a nephew, Matthew Blake and his wife Lynne of Worcester; a great-niece, Katelyn Sealy of Colorado; a great-nephew, Alex Blake of Worcester; and several cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday in Sacred Heart Chapel, Summer Street, Yarmouthport with a burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:30 p.m., Monday afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Division of Development and the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, Floor 6, Brookline, MA 02445 or to the MSPCA Cape Cod, 1577 Falmouth Rd., Centerville, MA 02632.
