Arthur Kraus Obituary

CHATHAM — Arthur R. Kraus, 81, of Chatham, died at Liberty Commons Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in North Chatham, on Oct. 17, 2007.

He was the husband of the late Kathryn (Kirkpatrick) Kraus; father of Richard of West Barnstable and Karen Davignon of Cotuit; brother of Edward of Hull, Frederick of North Easton, and the late Lillian Weeks of Hanson; grandfather of William, Arleigh, Daniel, Sarah, and Nicholas. He also leaves six great-grandchildren.

Arthur was a World War II Marine Corps veteran. He moved to Cape Cod in 1950, and operated the Betts Pond Sunoco until 1968, and then moved to Eugene, Ore., where he spent the next 25 years.

In 1995, he moved back to Cape Cod. He enjoyed music and stamp collecting.

A memorial service will be held at the Cotuit Federated Church, School Street, Cotuit, on Nov. 2, 2007, at 11:30 a.m. Burial was previously held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Memorials in his name may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
