FALMOUTH — William F. Halloran, 78, of Falmouth, formerly of Wakefield, died at Falmouth Hospital, on Oct. 25, 2007.

"Willy" as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was born in Wakefield and resided there for 40 years. After graduating from Wakefield High School in 1946, he joined the Coast Guard for three years. In 1951, he graduated from Burdette College in Boston. He worked as an auditor for H.P. Hood and then as a salesman for Remington Rand. In 1969, he moved to Falmouth, where he worked as an accountant for King Neptune Caterers and as a bartender at the Coonamessett Inn. He was a life member of the Lodge of Elks.

He is survived by his children, Sheila Chapman of Wakefield, Colleen Harrington of Andover, and Michael T. Halloran of New York City; a brother, Richard E. Halloran of South Yarmouth; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St., Falmouth Center, MA 02540. Beginning at noon on Monday, a funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, 511 Main St., Falmouth, followed by burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445.
