Hello Irene,Grier, and Jenny,
My Mother called and told me of Chick's passing...I have such fond memories of visits with Chick and Betty in Washington D.C.,lunch at the Cosmos Club, and of course great political conversations...his intellect and humor made him the ultimate "Merwin"...I will cherish these memories, hope you are all well,
Warmest regards,
Kit Merwin Haas

Chic was an incredible inspiration to everyone who knew him. We will miss him dearly - his warmth and generosity of spirit will endure in the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing him. For Greer and his family, please accept our deepest condolences. (Emily Young, grand niece, and family)

I knew Chick since the late 80's and always marveled at his intensity and dedication to any task at hand. I served with him on the Board of BWRC and from there we continued our friendship.
When I lived in Bethesda, he lived just around the corner, I told him if he ever had problems with his computer I was only a phone call away --- that still was true after I moved away.
We will all miss him --- our elder statesman...

Though I only knew him in his later years, what an enlightening and spirited person was Chick Merwin. (Marv Edwards, husband of great neice, Estelle Young.)
