James Arthur Morgan

MASHPEE — James Arthur Morgan, a devoted husband, father, brother and friend passed away at home on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Frances (Verme) Morgan.

Mr. Morgan joined the Marine Corps right out of high school and served in Vietnam. He transferred to the Air Force, served his country for 30 years, and earned many medals and commendations. He was a meteorologist for the military and loved to talk and teach weather.

Mr. Morgan was a former member of the Finance Committee for the Town of Mashpee. He also was the owner and operator of Mashpee Taxi. He retired about eight years ago. He enjoyed working on his garden. Recently, Mr. Morgan went back to college and was enrolled in Cape Cod Community College, where he was studying Marine Ecology.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Patricia Morgan and Melissa Morgan, both of Dennis, Michele Burns and Christine Bavetta, both of New York, and Lisa Merrill of Florida; a sister, Judith A. Morrone of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews; and two beautiful grandchildren. Mr. Morgan will also be missed greatly by his beloved dog, Jessie.

A private memorial service will take place at St. Patrick's Church, 511 Main St., Falmouth, MA, 02540 on Nov. 17 at noon.
