HYANNIS — Cynthia O. (Munroe) Piknick, 85, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at Cape Cod Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter J. Piknick Sr., who died in February, 2007.

Born in Harwich, she lived in Acushnet and worked at the Acushnet Process Co., until she moved to Hyannis in 1936. She worked alongside her husband in their business, Cape Cod Window Cleaning.

Her greatest joy was her family; her sons, Walter J. "Sonny" Piknick Jr. and his wife, Beth, of Centerville, and Stanley E. "Buddy" Piknick and his wife, Heidi, of North Waterboro, Maine; daughter, Donna I. Jennings and her husband, Edward, of Fairhaven; grandchildren, W. Joseph, III and Thomas and his wife, Kimberlee, Piknick, Shaunna Wharton, Todd and Hunter Piknick; great-grandchildren, Ashton Wharton, Dylan and Amanda Piknick; brother, Charles Munroe of Maine; and sister, June Taylor of Wellfleet. She was the sister of the late Joseph and James Munroe, and Olive Burney.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church, South Street, Hyannis, on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m. Burial is in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit. Visiting Hours are omitted.

Memorials in her name may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Cindy was a such a true friend and an "angel" to me. Becoming her neighbor back in the mid 70's was a blessing which became a cherished friendship that I will never forget. If not for her, I don't know how I would have made it over the "speed bumps" I encountered. She was loved and will be missed by all her knew her. My condolences go out to her wonderful and loving family.
