Rita McDonough Obituary
Mrs. McDonough was a 1937 graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy and Burdett Junior College and worked at the South Boston Army Base, where she met and married her beloved Staff Sgt. Daniel J. McDonough. Daniel predeceased her in 1998.
They are survived by six children, Katherine McDonough of Boston, Eileen M. Toland of Stoughton, Timothy J. McDonough of East Sandwich, Geraldine A. Hanrahan of East Sandwich, Daniel M. McDonough of Plymouth, and Patrick D. McDonough of San Francisco. They were predeceased by their son Michael F. McDonough. She was also predeceased by her beloved sister, Sr. Victorice Fitchett, CSJ; and brother James Fitchett. Mrs. McDonough is survived by 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., on Monday at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 324 Quaker Meetinghouse Road, East Sandwich. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
