John Hesek

SAGAMORE — John Hesek of Sagamore died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth.

He was married to his beloved wife, Mary (Ahearn) Hesek, with whom he recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.

Born and raised in Natick, he was a son of the late Frank and Anna (Vavra) Hesek. He was a resident of Sagamore for the past 46 years. A graduate of the State Police Academy, Mr. Hesek had been a Park and Forest Ranger at Lake Cochituate and eventually at the Department of Public Works, Tree Division, until his retirement.

A veteran of World War II, John served with the Coast Guard on a weather ship.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Andrea Winget and her husband, Steve, of Monument Beach, John Hesek and his wife, Laura, of North Falmouth, Nancy Hesek of Sagamore and Frank Hesek of Pocasset; and four cherished grandchildren, Lindsey, Mariama, Devon and Jared. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Flynn of Natick; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Hesek of Natick; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be offered in St. Patrick's Church Natick, Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery Natick. Visiting hours in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home (www.everettfuneral.com), 4 Park St., at Natick Common will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
