Virginia Bound Obituary

CENTERVILLE — Virginia L. "Ginny" Bound, of Centerville, died Nov. 10, 2007, at the Cape Regency Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, after a long illness.

She was the wife of the late Air Force Lt. Col. Gene L. Bound Sr.

Born and raised in New Haven, Conn., Virginia graduated from Columbia University to become a dental hygenist, an art that she would perfect over 45 years. She made friends with everyone she met.

Ginny followed her husband to duty bases throughout the U.S. They lived in Centerville for many years before moving to Texas. She returned to Centerville after the death of her husband.

She was a member of South Congregational Church in Centerville, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.

She is survived by her daughter, Diana Oberman and her husband, Bob; three sons, Gene Jr., James Bound and his wife, Patricia,, and Brad Bound. She is also survived by six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in the South Congregational Church, 565 Main St., Centerville, on Friday, Nov. 16, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.

Memorials in her name may be made to the South Congregational Church, 565 Main St., Centerville, MA 02632.

Just happened to see the notice of Mrs. Bound's death, which brought back memories of the kind, friendly dental hygenist who made my visits to Dr. O'Neil's office so much less scary so many years ago. I'm sure she'll be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
