PLYMOUTH — Marilyn Ruth (Miller) Marsh, 75, of Plymouth and formerly of Dennis, died peacefully, after a long illness, on Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her three children and their partners, David Marsh and Darren Dobrowsky of Willington, Conn., Margaret Robinson and William Potts of South Onondaga, N.Y., and Andrew and Heather Marsh of Needham, as well as her six grandchildren, Emily Jane Robinson, Oren Rigel Robinson, Miles Blackwood Robinson, Ceile Rose Marsh, Olivia Anne Marsh, and Marion Elizabeth Marsh. She is also survived by her sister, Gertrude Baulch of Lake Worth, Fla., and her two brothers, John Miller of Shelton, Conn., and Steven Miller of Beaumaris, Victoria, Australia. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald James Marsh, in May of 1999.

Born in Bronx, N.Y., she graduated from Evander Childs High School, where she developed an early talent for art. Later, along with her husband and family, she enjoyed traveling the world, and lived for several years in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Madrid, Spain. Upon returning to the U.S., she studied at and graduated from Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport, Conn., earning an associate degree in interior design. In succeeding years, she owned her own design business.

On retirement to Dennis, she devoted herself to many other hobbies, including quilting, gardening, and cooking, and to spending time with her large family. Following the death of her husband, she relocated to The Pinehills in Plymouth, where she soon made many wonderful friends.

She was an active member of The Pinehills Singles on the Go, and was both the founder and president of The Pinehills Quilters group.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, located at 619 State Road (Route 3A), in Plymouth (Manomet).

A reception will follow at the Overlook Clubhouse at Great Island from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorial services will be private.

I was fortunate to meet Mrs. Marsh at one of Margaret's funfilled Halloween parties. Mrs. Marsh was dressed as a flapper girl and looked positively marvelous. I had a great time chatting with her about eclectic interior design. Her beauty, intelligence, and artistic flair live on in Margaret, Emily, Oren, and Miles. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy in her children and grandchildren.

I'm glad that people could be close to Grandma as she left. She is such a part of all of us in the family and won't be forgotten.

To Marilyn's family.....My sincerest sympathies to all of you on the loss of you mother, grandmother and sister. She had a full life and was very fortunate to have David and so many of you care for her in her final illness. We can be grateful that she was free of pain for most of her illness, and even when she wasn't, she was upbeat and smiling.
She was a lovely lady, and I am so glad I got to know her.
She will be missed.
I hope to get to The Overlook Clubhouse on Sat.
