Eugene McLaughlin Obituary
Born in Boston, to the late Mary and Alexander McLaughlin, Eugene was a graduate of Boston Trade High School. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II in the European Theater, where he received the American Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He worked as a contract negotiator for the Air Force, retiring in 1978.
Eugene lived in Boston for 35 years, Attleboro for 20 years before settling in Dennis for the past 29 years. He was a member of the retired Men's Club of Cape Cod. He enjoyed bowling, quahoging, baking and bingo. He was a volunteer at Our Lady of the Cape Parish as an usher.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara; three daughters, Barbara White, Joan Swift and Ann Sullivan; two sisters, Helen Flaherty and Margaret McDonough; five grandchildren, Erin Swift, Emily White, Beth White, Sarah Sullivan and Peter Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, Nov. 23, at 11 a.m., in the Our Lady of the Cape Parish, Stoney Brook Road, Brewster.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dennis Rescue Squad, 883 Main St., West Dennis, MA 02670.
