MIDDLETOWN, Conn. —

Despina Rose (Thalasitis) Rynchlovsky, 86, of Middletown, died early Wednesday morning, Nov. 21, 2007, at Middlesex Hospital Hospice Unit.

She was the widow of Robert M. Rychlovsky.

Despina Rose Rynchlovsky was born Jan. 19, 1921, in New York City. She was the daughter of the late George and Alice Doulgaris Thalisitis.

For many years, she had worked as a seamstress for the Leveine and Levine Company in Colchester. She and her husband had lived in Colchester and East Hampton before retiring to Dennis. She returned to Connecticut in 2000.

She leaves behind a son, Robert Rychlovsky and his wife Sally of East Hampton; a daughter, Betty Lynn Landry and her husband Robert of East Dennis; four grandchildren, Jessica Loffredo and her husband Richard, Bobby Landry, Jillian Davidson and her husband Matthew, and Christine Landry; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 231 Main St., Portland, on Sunday, from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, at 10:15 a.m., from the Portland Memorial Funeral Home, and at 11 a.m. in the Church of St. Mary, for a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Colchester.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Church of St. Mary, 51 Freestone Ave., Portland, CT 06480, or to the Middlesex Hospital Hospice, c/o Office of Philanthropy, 28 Crescent St., Middletown, CT 06457.

My Greek Grandmother was the most kind and loving person to not only her children, but her grandchildren too. She will be greatly missed, but will remain in our hearts forever.
