Elaine Sullivan Obituary
Elaine Copeland (Carter) Sullivan, 84, of East Falmouth, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at JML, with her five children at her side.
Born in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Geraldine Carter. She married James Leo Sullivan Sr. in Holyoke, on June 3, 1954, and he died on Feb. 15, 1992.
She graduated from New England Baptist School of Nursing and was a registered nurse for more than 20 years at Falmouth Hospital, retiring in 1983.
An avid Red Sox fan, she loved listening to Vince Gill, writing letters and sending cards. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Patrick, Michael, James and Nancy of East Falmouth, and Brian of North Falmouth. Also surviving her are 10 grandchildren, Dana, Craig, Christopher, Benjamin, Tyler, Molly, Dylan, Hannah, Taylor and Jamie; and a brother, Alan Carter of Sanford, Maine. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cynthia Boyce, and a brother, Robert Carter.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the First Congregational Church, 68 Main St., Falmouth, MA 02540. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the church.

I have some very fond memories of "Sully" when we both worked at Falmouth Hospital so many years ago. She was a very lovely lady.

I met your mom way back when I worked at Falmouth Hospital as an Rn in 1981. I am Sibyl Haye's niece and I remember her telling me Elaine was her maid of honor when she and Leonard got married. Sibyl and I are sorry for your loss.
