Arthur Archer Obituary

HYANNIS — Arthur D. Archer, 87, passed away Nov. 24, 2007, after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his wife, Elsie (Betty) Miller Archer, to whom he was married for 52 loving years.

Born in East Woburn, he graduated from Barnstable High School and served in the Merchant Marine during World War II. Mr. Archer worked for the Barnstable Police Department, with 38 years of service. Dudley was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Robert A. Archer and his wife, Kathryn, Curtis P. Archer, and Mary Archer. He is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Archer was predeceased by his son, Richard C. Archer, and brother, Sidney Archer.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at 11 a.m., at Oak Neck Cemetery, Old Colony Street, Hyannis.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dudley's memory to NOAH Shelter, 77 Winter St., Hyannis MA 02601.
