WEST YARMOUTH —

Martha E. (Hockenhull) Anderson, 85, of West Yarmouth, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, in Medway County Manor, Medway.

She was the wife of the late Stafford N. Anderson. They were married in April, 1945.

Born in Warwick, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jane E. (Lambert) Hockenhull.

Mrs. Anderson was a veteran of the Marine Corps. She had been employed as a bookkeeper with Suburban Gas in Hyannis for 13 years, and then as a cashier in the cafeteria of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School for 16 years, retiring in 1984.

She was a graduate of James T. Lockwood High School, class of 1940, and was a member of St. David Episcopal Church, South Yarmouth.

She is survived by a son, Andrew S. Anderson of Medway; a sister, Estelle A. French of Warwick, R.I.; and two granddaughters, Sheilagh and Meghan Anderson. She was the sister of the late Albert E., John C. and Robert H. Hockenhull, Ellen A. Almberg, and Gertrude A. Austin.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, at 9 a.m., from the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick, R.I. (Exit 12A on I-95), with a Requiem Eucharist at 10 a.m., in All Saints Episcopal Church, 111 Greenwich Ave., Warwick, R.I. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Warwick, R.I. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home, on Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to the American Heart Association, 396 Main St., Suite 14, Hyannis, MA 02601 would be appreciated.
